My Saskatoon PR (public relations) Experience

Having PR representation as an artist is very important in my opinion. They can offer you so much when it comes to connections with the media, events, and opportunities. Hiring a PR company is not cheap, especially when you are an independent singer/songwriter working endlessly to make a buck.

I had this brilliant idea to throw a pre Ep launch/listening party for my upcoming album which is due out this year...well actually last year ha-ha but life happens!:D

I contacted a PR company, had a meeting and voila...my idea began to come to life. My launch is now bigger and better, becoming a potential fundraiser for my favorite theatre, The Persephone Theatre. The PR person I am working with is a big time events coordinator; someone that definitely charges a pretty hefty coin!

Without my even asking her, she offered an exchange for her services since she loved my idea, and my music so much. Her proposal was too good to turn down, and so I accepted without hesitation!

The point of my blog today, is that if you have a vision, and you feel the vision is too big, or too expensive, or unreachable...STOP IT! You have to try, because all you need is one person to make you realize that your ideas are in fact just as doable as tying your shoes when you're 3 years old. Sometimes it is scary, or it can be tough, but it is always manageable. Where there is a will, there is a way!

I will keep you all posted on my pre EP launch and fundraiser. The album is called "Dreaming is Believing"; the title speaks for itself.

My producer, NHD, is all the way in London, but I have to say that with his encouragement I keep climbing mountains. He won't be here for the pre launch, but you better believe he will be present at the actual launch this summer in England.

Muah... God is good!
Love
